Farmers’ Almanac releases 2021 winter weather forecast

As dual spinning hurricanes threaten the gulf states in an act that defies both meteorology and history, forecasters are already turning their attention to what the upcoming winter has in store. Spoiler alert: if you’re not a fan of freezing or snowy weather, you probably won’t like what the Farmers’ Almanac has to say.

In typical 2020 fashion, seasoned prognosticators have painted a bleak and chilly picture for the months ahead. According to the forecast, the Great Lakes region will see its “fair share of snow” while the northeast and mid Atlantic states could see blizzard like conditions by the end of March. Despite the augmented snow forecast that many of us will see this year, the news isn’t all bad for those who live out west, who can expect a drier and milder winter by previous years’ standards. Then, there is of course, our seasonal wildcard. Weather pundits are still undecided on what to expect in Tennessee as the list of possible scenarios runs the gamut from dry and mild to wet and wild.

Invest in vetted steel protection from Elephant Barns

Vertical style barn with two lean-to's and gables on every end.

Only time will tell if these predictions will hold true. This is, after all, the same group who incorrectly predicted last year’s “Polar Coaster,” so it’s hard to put too much stock in long-terms forecasts when daily or even hourly reports are subject to change. Regardless of what Mother Nature might be packing this winter, now is the time to invest in steel protection from Elephant Barns. Late summer is also the ideal time to plan and install a steel metal barn as temperatures will soon begin to drop off and wet weather will surely relent. Once your barn is firmly installed, you will also want plenty of time to winterize or weatherize your structure to keep livestock safe and warm.

County, Ridgeline or Valley?

Fully enclosed ridgeline style barn, with two roll-up garage doors and one walk-in door.

At Elephant Barns, we offer varying levels of protection and security although all our units are made with superior steel with your needs in mind. All Elephant Barns are based on one of three structural foundations: County, Ridgeline or Valley. All barns off great protection, but if you are looking for optimal and durable strength, we would have to recommend the Valley selection. With an A-Frame vertical style roof, this is the strongest barn design in our entire catalog! While we aren’t bashful about touting our top-of-the-line products, we would be remised if we didn’t tell champion the traditional barn appearance of the Ridgeline structure base.
